What is Consignment?
Consignment means that you provide the furniture, we provide the store – and we share the profits. When sold, you receive 50% of the selling price.
What type of items will MKE Treasures accept?
We love chairs, tables, dressers, lamps, rugs, chandeliers, mirrors, art, and accessories. Items need to be clean and have no rips, tears, damage, stains, smells, or pet hair. We are not able to accept baby furniture, appliances, or electronics.
How do I know if my items are right for MKE Treasures?
We highly recommend a visit to our shop to get a feel for the items we carry or you can visit our Treasures Page. Your item must be approved. This is very easy! We encourage you to email a photo of your item to consign@mketreasures.com for an online evaluation or you are always welcome to stop by to show us your item. If approved, you can bring it in or we can recommend a professional mover.
How do I get paid?
When an item has been accepted, we will set a selling price. After it sells, you will receive one half of that price. Consigned items will be marked down in this way:
– First month – Full price
– Second month – 20% off full price
– Third month – 40% off full price
Most things sell in three months. Please keep in mind that making a considerable profit is rare. When your item has sold, you will receive a check in the mail in the month following its sale.
What if my item does not sell?
Most of our items sell quickly. However, if it does not, after several months you may choose to pick it up or, with your permission, MKE Treasures will happily donate it to a worthy cause, free of charge.
